Voice Games
These are games designed to give anyone engaged in trans voice training a way to utilize play as a component of their practice. Voice training can be miserable work, but I believe that these tools can help you get out of your own head. It's possible that this could be useful for cis people as well, I hope you have fun too! I am not a professional voice person and I don't know anything about psychology or acting or web design (I cobbled together the code by modifying answers from stackoverflow posts that were similar to my needs), so please disregard any or all aspects of this page that you find unhelpful, and feel free to download the pages and change them to be whatever you want.

REMEMBER TO BE SAFE. Avoid going into extremes with loud or quiet voices, you could hurt yourself. If you feel pain, stop. Remember to drink water.

Prompt Generator: This one assembles a few scenarios that you can improvise a scene around. I was thinking of those old Bob Newhart routines where you only get one side of a phone call, you'd basically have to use the power of your imagination to think of the other side of the phone call. I guess you could also try to rope someone else into this, if you wanted. You don't have to do that though. I strongly recommend trying to imagine that you are a different person, some kind of character who is not you, because that way when you make a mistake, it's not a failure of "your voice", and it can hurt less that way. You may also find that you can get around dysphoria blocks with this strategy, as this can be an obstacle to allowing yourself access to everything your voice is capable of doing. Scroll down to the bottom of the page if you'd like to edit in your own prompts, but make sure you save them on a file on your computer or something, because they will not be saved on the website.

The Interrupter: For this one, you go in and just talk about whatever. You can use the prompt generator if you need something to talk about, or just look up a random wikipedia article. Go read about blue field entoptic phenomenon, that's a fun one! But at some point while you're talking, click the button that summons the interrupter. In 30 seconds, you will be given an interruption of some kind that is intended to be surprising (indicated with (?!)), sad/disappointing (...), or frustrating (!!!). These are kind of subjective distinctions, you may think some of the sad ones are actually frustrating. Feel free to scroll down and edit them to fit your emotional landscape. But remember, the website will not save your edits!
